Dream Catcher

Sounds familiar? It’s not something that you hang in the room that expels bad spirits or traps bad dreams. Let’s give it a new definition. This is about building a dream and turn it into reality.

Why I chose this title? When I was a child, I dreamed of becoming a doctor, travel around the world, have lots of money, with a big house, and a whole lot more good things everybody wants to have. Just a typical fantasy of someone who grew in poverty.

Poverty inspired me to be a good student. I made myself into a voracious knowledge advocate. I read just anything I can grab on, watched good movies, and devour all sense and sensibilities. I practically pushed myself into severe mental stress.

College days came, and I had to face different difficult situations, most especially financial constraints. I wanted to be a doctor, but I am not financially capable. I missed a scholarship, so I have to settle on a different course, through the aid of a scholarship, of course.

And now, I am 42 and a solo mom. I had failures but I never lose hope. Reading helped me developed a vivid and rich imagination. I want to use it in writing. I want to try my luck in freelancing. I am currently an ESL Teacher and looking for more media to express the best in me. I do paintings as well.

In my next articles, you can expect inspiring stories, education, things about my small, or maybe, big successes, and things about ESL Teaching and painting.
